The Qiagen Qiacube Connect is an automated instrument for DNA and RNA extraction using Qiagen spin-column kits. The instrument comes with pre-loaded protocols– simply choose your kit, follow the setup instructions, and run up to 12 samples at a time.
The BioGarage only allows DNA/RNA extraction of E. coli K-12 samples on this instrument. Other bacterial strains, as well as tissue and cells, are not permitted in the facility.
The Qiacube is compatible with over 80 Qiagen spin-column kits. Users are required to provide their own kits and consumables. A list of Qiacube-compatible kits can be found on Qiagen’s website. Some kits may require additional materials such as rotor adaptors and reagent bottles, which can be purchased from Qiagen.
The Qiacube is free to use for all BioGarage members.
Training is available upon request for a fee of $115/hour. Please contact biogarage@biotech.wisc.edu to request a training.
